This is a photograph of a boy and a girl dancing back in Harlem in 1939. This photograph was taken by Cornell Capa.

This photograph is of a crowd of people reaching for a person's hands. These are JFK's hands during his presidential campaign in 1960. This photograph was also taken by Cornell Capa.

Lindsay

This picture is of two young boys in South America. The background is blurry because the train is in motion and the focus is on the two boys. The two boys look about 10 years old and are staring into the distance. There are mountains in the background with one shack so it looks like an isolated area. They are headed to Cuzco. This picture was taken by Jim Goldberg in 1980 and is called, "Train to Cuzco."

These pictures were taken on the meusum the other day. The first one did not came out right because the white wall was in it and the background statue was not complete, but once I moved the camera in to the perfect positionthe picture came out perfect. Creating a relationship between the two statues.

This is a picture taken by Philippe Halsman in 1962.
In this picture we can see a woman being attacked by two black birds. In the background we see Alfred Hitchcock Having dinner in a small round table with a glass of wine, he is not looking at the woman he is looking at his food.

This is a picture of Black Civil Rights Activists at the Washington Monument. The vertical depth  of the monument, a pillar of freedom/democracy, gives the photo of historic symbolic depth along with physical composition depth. The singing is a great action to capture, especially isolated by the hazy lighting.

1. I think the bokeh here is strong and does not show a sense of location, but it works because it isolates the subjects, man and pizza. I think a wider background would give this isolation more depth, but I like it for the most part.

2. Though it is not as in focus as I would like, I really like the red coat with the blue light of the picture. I like the semi-bokeh look, which still shows gazes towards the man.

These photos are taken by a Norwegian photographer named Jonas Bendiksen. He often focuses on isolated communities and enclaves, and, as he says, "working on stories that get left behind in the race for the daily headlines."

This is an image from Elliott Erwitt, a French/Italian photographer. I like the funny approach the photographer has taken to realize this photo, and the seriousness the black and white give the image.  In this picture I see two dogs and an owner sitting on a front stoop. One of the dogs is conveniently sitting on its owner's lap making it seem as though it is a dog with a human's body.

This is a picture from the famous photographer David Lachapelle. I chose this picture because I went to his exhibition 1 week ago. The "power station" you see in the picture is a miniature version made by a group of specialists. If you look closely you see that they used straws, glitter, tin cans, energy drinks, ... He put the miniature in a real place and used a wide lens camera, so the object looks bigger than it is.

f/5.6  Shutter: 1/125  170mm  ISO: 400

These images were of a musician at a park I went to over the weekend. I thought the light on him was pretty nice. The first one is a bit blurred, which I would have fixed had I not been scared by him looking intensely at me. The second one is a little too bright on his forehead, which I wanted to change but I didn't know what he thought of me taking pictures of him, so I took a few shots and walked away. To fix these issues, I would have increased the shutter speed and opened the aperture more (if my lens allows me).

ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/80
Aperture: 5.6

This makes me want to purchase a 35mm or 50mm prime lens to practice more.
