Justin: Hiroji Kubota

Photographer: Hiroji Kubota, 1963

This is a picture of Black Civil Rights Activists at the Washington Monument. The vertical depth  of the monument, a pillar of freedom/democracy, gives the photo of historic symbolic depth along with physical composition depth. The singing is a great action to capture, especially isolated by the hazy lighting.
