He was born in France to Russian parents, and when he was a tee moved to New York City. He got interested in photography in high school, and it became his career.
He is an advertising and documentary photographer and is known for his ironic and dramatic images. He likes photographing children and dogs, and all of his pictures are in black and white.
Elliot Erwitt photographed Marilyn Monroe in New York in 1956. He worked for Magnum Photos and it became one of his most famous collection of photos. This is one of the images he took of Marilyn.
