It is your personal perception of a point in time in your life. It can be specific, like a snapshot of time. Or it can be generic, like a vague fuzzy feeling of happiness surrounding a certain event. Either way, memory comes with feelings, thoughts, and sensations, it is never just an image. Memories are what shape us into who we are, as they remind us where we have come from and where we wish to go.
This is a picture of me and my two brothers. It was taken last year when I was home for Thanksgiving Break and my mom wanted family portraits. To me, this captures the memory of growing up as the older sister. I am an out of state student so I don't get to see my family very often. When I look at this picture it reminds me of how much I love my little brothers. Even though we fight like all siblings do, this reminds me that my little brothers look up to me as the oldest and that they will always have my back, just as I do theirs. This photo captures the memory of the love I feel when I'm around my family.
